Face-to-face courses

Offered at different levels, typically introductory and advanced.

A fuller description of what each route involves, and guidance on which is appropriate for which purpose.

Clinical training and research reliability

Training for clinical practice and training to research reliability are not the same thing. Research use requires an agreed standard of consistency — conventionally 80% — evidenced through coded submissions.

Maintaining consistency

Within a clinical or research team, through peer supervision and consistency scoring sessions, and through wider networks.

Courses vary. Duration ranges from two to five days; some cover all modules and some a reduced number; style varies between didactic, interactive and supervised practice, with children or adults, live or on video; and some courses set work before or after attendance. Readers should check what a given course covers before booking.
